„Polish Folk Musical Instruments” – presentation of the website

The Institute of Music and Dance is inviting for the presentation of website "Polish folk musical instruments" - 17th March 2015 at 12 o'clock in The National Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw. 

 

The website "Polish folk musical instruments" – www.instrumenty.edu.pl - presents folk instruments found in Poland, their most interesting types and variants. The items date from different eras (18th-21st century). It's a free educational website gradually expanded over time to include interesting items from other collections which meets educational as well as scientific standards.

It's the first website to present such a wide range of materials - new photographic database with proffesional descriptions, audios, visuals and generic instruments. 

The database contains nearly 250 Polish folk instruments from across the country that are now in the custody of the Museum of Folk Musical Instruments in Szydłowiec, the State Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw, the Musical Instrument Museum and the Ethnographic Museum in Poznań (departments of the National Museum in Poznań), as well as the Jadwiga and Marian Sobieski Collection. On the website you will find around 1000 high quality photos and objects captured using 360 degree imaging.
